Programme of: "Quadrangular 1964" Retreat Ceremony, held at AAS Arborfield

This was the only time that the Bandsmen of the Four Schools ever came together!  When you eventually reach the full sized versions of the four pages that, together, comprise the full programme you'll hopefully recognise names of some of 'our heroes' such as:  C/Sgt Geoff Evison who was later promoted to WOII and Phil Crone who, a few years later, reached at least Cpl, Royal Signals.  Note too some of the now 'classical' pieces of music listed here --- especially such as 'Sunset' that was arranged by the Light Infantry's own Bugle Major Green!  ... and the final page tells the History, in brief, on how our Four Schools ever came about.  (There were other AAS establishments in the past ... one was even on one of the Channel Islands till the invasion by the Germans in WWII!  All that is someone else's story though!)  Next time you see the annual Beating the Retreat on Horse Guards Parade, may you remember that this ceremony has been performed many times, in many different venues and by many different age groups over the years ---- including memorable occasions on a Sports Field near Guston (Dover) by other (in some cases the same!) young Band boys ... from DYRMS!

Yes, I was on parade amongst this lot (as a lowly A/T L/Cpl!!).  Were YOU there, perchance?
